BOARD OF DIRECTORS
President: Linda Ng [top]
Linda Ng is a Principal of State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) and is a member
of the Relationship Management team in the San Francisco office.
Linda is primarily responsible for managing relationships within SSgA's
existing client base of Corporates, Endowments, Foundations, Public
Funds, and Taft-Hartleys.
Prior to joining SSgA in Oct. 2006, Linda was an Assistant Vice President,
Consultant with State Street Analytics (SSA) in the Alameda, CA office, responsible
for delivering performance measurement and investment analytic solutions
to over a dozen of State Street's largest institutional clients such
as CalPERS
and CalSTRS. While at SSA from 1999 to 2006, she held multiple positions
as a performance analyst, senior analyst, manager of up to ten analysts,
client
service officer, and assistant vice president, consultant. In 2001, she worked
in Hong Kong on a six months assignment to assist with establishing the SSA
operations in Hong Kong. Linda also previously held positions in the Public
Funds Division as a portfolio accountant and auditor since joining State
Street in July 1997. Her awards at State Street include State Street
California's
Peer Recognition Award in Nov. 1998, SSA Alameda's Employee of the Quarter
in Sept. 1999 and State Street's William S. Edgerly Community Service Award
in Dec. 2002. As a recipient of the Edgerly Community Service Award, Linda
was awarded a grant of $10,000 to the charity of her choice, the Chinatown
Community Children's Center (CCCC). Linda has been on CCCC’s Board
of Directors since 1999.
Linda was raised in San Francisco and has always been an active volunteer in the community, tutoring students at various afterschool programs and raising funds at charity walks and fundraising events. Linda received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996. Linda enjoys traveling, golf, tennis, and snowboarding.
I joined the CCCC Board because I admire the resourcefulness of the Center
(especially fond of the hanging bumblebees made out of emptied toilet paper
rolls during my first visit) and I am passionate about providing more for the
children, families and teachers of CCCC.
Vice President: Mervyn Han [top]
Mervyn Han is
a merchandise planner with Pottery Barn's catalog and e-commerce division.
He forecasts sales, develops inventory strategy and coordinates markdowns.
Prior to joining Pottery Barn, he was a consultant with Bain & Co.
Mervyn received a Bachelors of Arts in Environmental Science and Public Policy
from Harvard in 2003, and was active in community service during college. He
was a counselor for a summer camp serving inner-city children with asthma,
and was director of a student-run social work/legal aid group at Boston Medical
Center. Those experiences helped him understand the barriers that low-income
families face, but also showed him that energy and enthusiasm can go a long
way in overcoming those challenges.
I joined the CCCC board because I am passionate
about service. The mission, size and people make the CCCC such an exceptional
organization.
Treasurer: Victoria Fan[top]
Victoria Fan is currently an Accounting Manager at Google. She has 7 years of accounting and financial experience and is a C.P.A.
Victoria earned her B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign in 1997. She studied abroad at the University of London
and interned at the United States Embassy in 1996 during her junior year of
college. In 2000-2001, Victoria taught English in Taiwan and furthered her
Mandarin Chinese at National Taiwan Normal University. In May of 2005, Victoria
graduated with top honors with a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University.
Victoria's parents immigrated to San Francisco in the 1970s and she became the first child in the Fan Family to be born in the U.S. Victoria enjoys traveling, yoga, snow boarding (although not well) and exercising (occasionally).
Why Victoria joined the board: I wanted to give back to the SF community which helped raise me. My parents were immigrants to this country and I remember how difficult it was for them to raise children, find quality education, AND work. I enjoy serving on this board because of I love working with such a great group of individuals who are dedicated to serving our community and her children and families.
Secretary: Cindy Tong [top]
Cindy Tong is
currently an Analyst in the Purchasing Department at Blue Shield of California.
She is responsible for managing vendor relations and implementing a Supplier
Diversity program to provide equal opportunities to women, minority and disabled
veteran-owned businesses.
Cindy earned her Bachelor of Arts from University of California, Davis in 2004.
During college, she was an active member of the International Relations Student
Association, Model United Nations, Golden Key Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa
Honor Society.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Cindy enjoys spending time with her family,
friends, and pet dog. She also loves extreme sports (skydiving, parasailing,
river rafting), trying new restaurants in the city, and volunteering. In addition
to CCCC, Cindy is involved with Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly
and Blue Shield’s Community Service Committee.
I joined the CCCC Board because I want to volunteer
with an organization that services children and the community I grew up in.
I understand from firsthand experience how difficult it is for immigrant
parents to find affordable, quality daycare – and there is no better
way to directly improve the lives of these families than by joining the board
of CCCC!

Victor is a San Francisco resident.
He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon
in Eugene, and he is a licensed architect in the state of California.
Mei Yi Ouyang [top]
Meiyi is a Project Manager at Zonic Design & Imaging, LLC a small PR/Advertising company in San Francisco, a growing company serving many clientele and markets, including car dealerships nationwide. Meiyi's job has challenged her to more than coming up with different marketing strategies for her clients and management but to also expose a creative side of her that she never thought existed! Meiyi graduated from UCSD and worked as a Child Support Officer for 2 years for the San Diego County. This job opened her eyes to some of the tragic outcomes of kids who grew up in single parent homes or low-income families. As a Child Support Officer, she fought to gain financial benefits for those kids but she also wanted to do more so she became a volunteer at Big Brother/Mentor program in San Diego. After moving back to the Bay Area, she found CCCC and joined the board. Meiyi was instrumental in providing design and print services for the 2006 Spring Gala invitations and programs.
I joined CCCC board because I truly admired the hard work of both the staff and the board in providing the best education and care for the children at CCCC. The center is small but its resourcefulness is overwhelming, and I'm impressed with our 'once a month' board meetings and 'once a year' fundraising event - both which help with the smooth operation of the center. The dedication of the board members and our Executive Director that I observed during my first two board meetings really encouraged me to be a part of this wonderful non-profit organization that provides the best tool for our future generation to be the best they can be.

the San Francisco Mayor’s Office. Selina was born and raised in San
Francisco, and she has a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s College of
California and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings
College of the Law.
I joined the CCCC Board because I wanted to volunteer
with an organization that focused on helping children in their early development
and their families in achieving their immigrant goals of providing a better
life for their children. My many friends and I grew up in similar circumstances,
and I wanted to be a part of an organization that helps today’s children
growing up with immigrant backgrounds.

Morinne has a passion for volunteering
time to give back to the Chinatown Community. As a child growing up in the
New Jersey suburbs, she realized how lucky she was to have parents who were
always around on the weekends to take her to places to expose her to other
surroundings which many families served by CCCC do not have the luxury to
do. As a board member, she is helping get our children off to the right start
by exposing them to more and opening up many opportunities for them in the
future.
