Admissions Policy
The Chinatown Community Children's Center is opened to the public on a non-discriminatory basis. Children 3-5 years old, whose family meet all income and need criteria requirements, shall have full access to our services regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, or religion.
The Chinatown Community Children's Center is licensed by the California State Department of Social Services.
The Chinatown Community Children's Center will accept children who are physically handicapped, mentally disordered or developmentally disabled.
Application Process for the Subsidized Program
Each application will be assigned a rank using the above admission priority schedule issued by the State Department of Education, Office of Child Development. For the purposes of determining the order of admission, public assistance grants are counted as part of a person's income. When 2 or more families have the same income/rank number, the family that has been on the wait list longer shall be admitted first.
Special Case: Families who have a child/children enrolled in the Center shall be allowed to enroll additional children provided there exists an appropriate program opening.
The Center maintains a current wait list in accordance with admission priorities. The Center will contact applicants in order of priority should a vacancy occur.
Application Process for the Full Cost Program
The Center encourages all parents to schedule an appointment to come into the Center to observe and experience some of the Center's activities and get an overview of the program.
