Interim Executive Director
Jyan Ferng
Jyan joined CCCC because he wanted to work for an organization that assists children to reach their maximum potential. CCCC also provides families with a platform to reach the America Dream. He is honored to be able to contribute to the Asian-American community through CCCC.
He sees his role as a change agent offering and promoting a visionary purpose while concurrently managing the day-to-day operations of an organization. As previous Board President and the current Interim Executive Director, Jyan hopes to give the best early start to the preschoolers that attend, whose parents often face their own dilemmas seeking employment and learning skills.
Jyan received a B.A. in English from U.C. Berkeley and a J.D. from U.C. Hastings. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2000 and specialized in employment litigation. Jyan also serves on the board of directors of the Treasure Island Homeless Development Initiative. He has served CCCC since 2003.
Educational Coordinator
Vanessa Chen, Ph.D.
Vanessa Chen is the education coordinator of Chinatown Community Children’s Center. She is passionate about working with children from diverse language and cultures to enhance their learning and development through play. Prior to her current position, she was an assistant professor at National HsinChu University of Education in Taiwan.
Vanessa is married to Jerry Yang, and is the mother of twin girls (Grace and Michela). She joined CCCC in 2008.
Site Supervisor
Jeannie Lim, B.A.
Jeannie enjoys reading, eating, swimming, traveling, hanging out with family and friends. Her enjoyment working in Early Childhood has been very enriching throughout the years. She is amazed by how much learning personally and professionally this field is teaching her. She is also very grateful to be with supportive Board and Staff Members who are dedicated, caring, and conscientious in working together for our children, families, and the community. As the saying goes, "it takes a village to raise a child."
Fiscal Administrator
Jane Lew
Jane joined CCCC in 2009. She received her Bachelor Degree in Accounting from San Francisco State University. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of accounting, working as an Investment Portfolio Accountant, Staff Accountant and Property Management Accountant. As the Fiscal Administrator, she is responsible for the maintenance and reporting of the financials for the Center.
Office Manager
Haiyan Chen
Haiyan joined Chinatown Community Children’s Center in October 2007. As a “floating person” at CCCC, her role is to support all staff, children, and their families; working with other team members to maintain CCCC a quality childcare.
Haiyan earned her associate degree in child development from City College of San Francisco and started working in the early childhood education field since 2001. She was also obtaining her bachelor’s degree in humanity (majoring in social work) from New College of San Francisco and expects to graduate in the next year.
